The only way I play skyrim now is on the highest difficulty with no HUD, and I just explore. I don't even activate dragons, I just wander, talk to people, explore dungeons if I find them, follow road signs if I need to get somewhere, and never fast travel or even open the map. It's fun for about an hour or 2 i suppose

Appreciate serious commentary on this game from the perspective of someone who doesnt masturbate to snuff videos, or kneejerk reacting to stimuli. These games did leave me conflicted enjoying, as repeated events in my life and knowledge of repeasted events outside my life changed my perspective on police from 'cool guns cool car cool job' as a child, to a more realistic outlook. That theyre mostly thugs who got bullied too much in school and want power over others, and toys. I think that the situations in RON and SWAT are the times where domestic soldiers are needed helped me be ok with it. I think the fact that its fiction, its not realistic, its hyperrealistic, stylized, each situation is the most dramatic and violent situation that a SWAT officer would feel lucky(or unlucky) to find themselves in once in their entire career. No dog shooting or crib flashbanging. Everyone in RON is dangerous and argueably deserves the level of caution and violence the player is there to deal out. Just providing a counterpoint to the snowflakes that flocked to the comments to cry about you not getting on your knees for our boys in blue.

How can elden ring be compared with witcher 3 and or skyrim if you dont have dialogue choices?

I pre-ordered skyrim. I was obsessed with morrowind in high school, then oblivion came out and disappointed me. I was heart broken. When skyrim was announced they claimed they were returning to a more morrowind like experience and I thought hell yeah they stumbled a bit but my favorite series is back. Then release day came, I saw my roomate play the intro and decided not to pick up my pre-order. 13 years later and I've still never played that dreadful game.

Halo 2 is such a good example of your point on politics. One of the best improvements over CE was how in depth, and front & center they put the political struggles of the Covenant and the Arbiter. Telling the story this way fleshed out the villains so well, and was fantastic for world building. Instead of sheepishly worming around the issue, they embraced it and made it fucking epic and unforgettable. BGS is either too afraid, incapable or being intentionally barred from making a story period; let alone a good and in-depth one. Makes me sad, they had the keys to the damn kingdom with this game. New IP, multi million dollar budget, hundreds of developers. And this is the best they could do.

A patch alone won't fix this. Not even a phantom liberty type DLC/extension can save it. Bethesda is dying and it took way too long to reach this point.

Kingdome come deliverance has a horrible opening sequence that made me lose interested in the game instantly plus I wouldn't call it a true rpg same as witcher 3

I love Skyrim... As a world. Somewhere to just explore and do random side quests to the point that I avoid doing the main quest so dragons don't show up. It's not a great RPG, it's about as RPG as Borderlands (which I love but isn't an RPG) Skyrims story isn't good, it's combat is absolutely shit, after finishing the game as almost every archetype I just make an archer to avoid actual combat of wildly swinging whatever weapon skin looks good today. The magic isn't engaging or varied and the unique items are mostly overshadowed by blacksmithing and enchanting. But the lore isn't bad, the world feels good to be in...as long as you don't talk to too many people. But is it a game I go back to? Not anymore. FF1, VI, and XII, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Ultima IV, Legend of Zelda, Borderlands 2, sure but not Skyrim. I probably should have said "I Loved Skyrim".

If you ever played Deus Ex you will understand that weapons are tools, and enemies are obstacles. • Commando? Sniper shot in the head or riot prod to the back. • Lone guard? Croswbow bolt in the head, or baton in the back. • Squad of soldiers, maybe with a man in black? Gas grenade, then handgun or shotgun. • Spider bots? High ground and sabot rounds, or explosives. • Robots? EMP grenade, explosives or thermoptic camo. • Man in Black? Snipe, or gas grenade, or just explode the guy. • Transgenics? Tranquilizer dart, except for adult karkians. Eveey opponent requires a different approach, and let's you vary your equipment. Quite neat

I agree when you say Skyrim sucks but as soon as Elden Ring's massive but shallow coc was sucked, you've lost me. It's barely a less flawed game than skyrim from a purely "Open World" standpoint.

When right-wingers talk about political games they do not talk about Bioshock, Deus Ex, Helldivers 2, Metal Gear Solid, Fallout New Vegas or anything like it. You know the games with large points about the problems in society and critique of political ideologies. They talk about Paper Mario having a purple ghost who's trans, or there being a trans man in Dragon's Age 2, or Battletech letting you create a non-binary character, or Assassin's Creed letting you play as Yasuke etc etc Don't you love when terms become hollowed out of all meaning by men being threatened by the concept of other people existing?

The multiverse thing could be such a cool mainmechanic for a game. Give the player a reason to again and again try out new timelines to right a wrong for example. Have their decisions matter and create new unknown consequences each new try until finally you get the right combinations of events to, for example, save a person. It would be a story that has been told many times, but never like that in a videogame on a scale like this.

Pagliarulo never played Fallout I take it. It is a bleak masterpiece in immersive writing like little else. It can easily rival the great works of writing.

This game has 60% on Steam, Duck Detective: The Secret Salami has 96%. Said game is about a bread-addicted, depressed and divorced cartoon duck trying to solve who stole Laura's launch at Bearbus local station. The game is less than 10€ and absolutely hilarious.
